BYU showcased their impressive basketball prowess as they overcame North Carolina State in a thrilling championship game of the Vegas Showdown, winning with a final score of 95-86 on Friday. Jaxson Robinson emerged as a key contributor for BYU, scoring a remarkable 23 points off the bench.

The game was not without its challenges for BYU, who had to play without Atiki Ally Atiki due to his suspension for throwing a punch at an Arizona State player in the previous game. Nonetheless, the Cougars displayed their resilience and determination throughout the match.

After trailing for nearly 28 minutes, BYU turned the tide in the second half, shooting a remarkable 70% from the field. Their impressive shooting included 9 of 15 from beyond the arc and a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line. The Cougars' exceptional performance led them to outscore North Carolina State with an astonishing 57 points in the second half.

It was a pivotal moment in the game when BYU took a 66-64 lead, thanks to the consecutive three-pointers by Spencer Johnson and Trey Stewart. A dominant 11-0 run from BYU further solidified their lead, making it 85-72 with just 2:40 left on the clock.

BYU's balanced offensive attack was instrumental in securing their victory. Noah Waterman contributed 15 points, while Trevin Knell and Dallin Hall added 13 points each. Spencer Johnson finished the game with 11 points, rounding out the team's scoring leaders.

Despite the efforts of the Wolfpack, they couldn't stave off BYU's relentless offensive onslaught. Casey Morsell led the charge for North Carolina State, scoring an impressive 28 points. Jayden Taylor contributed 17 points, DJ Burns had 16 points, and DJ Horne added 14 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome BYU’s offensive firepower.

Early in the game, NC State gained an advantage, going on a 16-2 run to take a commanding 16-5 lead within the first five minutes. However, BYU showed their resilience and closed the gap to 43-38 at halftime, thanks to Jaxson Robinson's timely three-pointer and dunk.

BYU’s outstanding performance from beyond the arc was consistent with their season average, as they entered the game as the national leader in 3-pointers per game, with an average of 12.8. In this matchup, they made 14 three-pointers out of 34 attempts, resulting in an impressive shooting percentage of 56.7%.

NC State will look to bounce back from their loss as they face Mississippi in their upcoming game on Tuesday. Meanwhile, BYU will aim to continue their undefeated streak as they host Fresno State on Friday.

In a game filled with remarkable plays and outstanding performances, Jaxson Robinson's explosive scoring off the bench played a crucial role in BYU's championship victory in the Vegas Showdown. The Cougars' dominant second half shooting ensured they remained unbeaten with a perfect 6-0 record this season.
