In an intense battle between two wrestling powerhouses, the University of Iowa emerged victorious over Iowa State University with a score of 18-14. The highly anticipated annual Cy-Hawk Dual took place inside Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa on November 26, 2023.

The match kicked off at 2 p.m. CST with the starting weight category at 125 pounds. The first bout featured a gripping showdown between #21 Drake Ayala representing Iowa and #10 Kysen Terukina from Iowa State. After a scoreless first period, Ayala secured a three-point takedown in the second period, followed by an escape from Terukina. In the third period, Ayala extended his lead with an escape and a late three-point takedown, sealing a 7-2 victory.

At the 133-pound weight class, #20 Evan Frost of Iowa State faced off against #8 Brody Teske of Iowa. Frost's escape in the second period, coupled with a three-point takedown and near fall in the third period, led him to an 8-1 win.
