Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has been suspended indefinitely by the NBA after a series of physical altercations on the court. The four-time All-Star's most recent incident involved a wild strike to the face of Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic during Tuesday's game, resulting in his ejection.

This marks Green's third ejection of the season and his 18th throughout his career. Earlier this year, he received a five-game suspension for putting Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a chokehold. The NBA, running out of patience, made the decision to suspend Green on Wednesday, stating that he must meet specific conditions set by the team and league before he can return to play.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke about the suspension, emphasizing that it was more than just a basketball matter. Kerr sees it as an opportunity for Green to step away from the game and make a change in his approach and his life. He acknowledged that this process will not be easy and cannot be resolved simply by assigning a set number of games for suspension.

Known for his emotional style of play, Green has been the leader of a Golden State Warriors team that has secured four championships in the last eight years. However, over the past year, Green's emotional outbursts have escalated to physical altercations with opponents.

During training camp prior to the 2022-23 season, Green punched his then-teammate Jordan Poole in the face, leading to a one-game suspension. In the 2023 playoffs, Green stomped on the chest of Sacramento Kings forward Domantas Sabonis, resulting in another suspension. The league further suspended him for five games in November for his chokehold on Gobert during an altercation with the Timberwolves.

Kerr expressed his love and appreciation for Green's loyalty, commitment, and passion but emphasized the need for him to change. The coach emphasized that the focus should be on helping Green make a lasting change that will benefit not only himself but also the team.

The indefinite suspension comes at a challenging time for the Warriors, who have struggled early in the season with a 10-14 record, including a six-game losing streak in November. As the team works to find its rhythm, the absence of Green, a vital component of their success, will undoubtedly be felt on and off the court.

It remains to be seen how long the indefinite suspension will last and if it will serve as a catalyst for Draymond Green to make the necessary changes in his behavior and approach to the game. The Warriors organization, along with their dedicated fanbase, hopes for a positive outcome and a united return to winning basketball.
