Georgia Remains No. 1 in Latest AP Top 25 Poll, Ohio State Jumps to No. 2

In the latest AP Top 25 poll, the Georgia Bulldogs held onto their top spot after a dominant road victory over Tennessee, earning 61 out of the 62 first-place votes. Meanwhile, Ohio State and Michigan flipped positions, setting up an exciting showdown between the two teams next Saturday in Columbus.
Following an impressive performance against Minnesota, Ohio State moved up to No. 2 in the rankings. The Buckeyes showcased their strength and skill, securing a convincing victory and solidifying their position as a top contender in the College Football Playoff race. On the other hand, Michigan dropped to No. 3 after a narrow win over Maryland.
Washington also made a notable move in the rankings, climbing to No. 4 after a hard-fought road win against Oregon State. The Huskies' victory propelled them into the top four, switching spots with No. 5 Florida State. Unfortunately for Florida State, their win over North Alabama came at a cost as starting quarterback Jordan Travis sustained an injury.
As the regular season enters its final weekend, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Washington, and Florida State, all boasting perfect 11-0 records, will be looking to maintain their undefeated records and strengthen their cases for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
While teams like Oregon, Texas, Alabama, and Louisville remained in their respective rankings at No. 6, No. 7, No. 8, and No. 9, respectively, there were a few changes in the bottom half of the rankings. Missouri moved up to No. 10 following a thrilling last-second victory over Florida. Oregon State, previously ranked No. 10, dropped to No. 15 after a narrow loss to Washington.
Penn State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and LSU all moved up one spot, occupying the No. 11, No. 12, No. 13, and No. 14 positions, respectively, benefiting from Oregon State's drop. Additionally, there were some significant movements outside of the top 15, with Arizona, Notre Dame, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Liberty all climbing higher in the rankings.
No. 20 Iowa made a return to the rankings after clinching the Big Ten West title, while No. 23 Toledo earned its first ranking since 2015, following an impressive undefeated streak since their early-season loss to Illinois. James Madison, previously ranked No. 18, slipped to No. 24 after suffering their first loss of the season.
As the college football season reaches its climax, the AP Top 25 poll provides a snapshot of the most successful teams in the nation. With Georgia leading the pack and Ohio State ascending, the stage is set for a thrilling battle between the top-ranked teams in the coming week.
