In a disappointing turn of events for Arsenal, Gabriel Jesus will not be available for their Premier League clash against Liverpool at Emirates Stadium. The Brazilian forward had been a doubt for the game due to a knee issue he sustained during Tuesday's victory over Nottingham Forest.

Despite hopes of his recovery, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Gabriel Jesus would not be able to play any part in the game against Liverpool. Kai Havertz has been chosen as his replacement and will lead the line for the Gunners.

Arteta has made two other changes to the starting XI from their previous match against Forest. Jorginho comes in for Emile Smith Rowe, while Declan Rice pushes forward in midfield. Unfortunately, Takehiro Tomiyasu, who had been suggested as a possible inclusion after Japan's exit from the Asian Cup, is not even on the bench.

Defenders Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko retain their places at full back, despite their heated discussion at full time following the win at the City Ground earlier in the week.

The confirmed Arsenal starting XI against Liverpool is as follows: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Jorginho, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli.

On the bench, Arteta has options in Ramsdale, Cedric, Walters, Kiwior, Elneny, Smith Rowe, Nelson, Trossard, and Nketiah.

This news comes as Arsenal fans eagerly await the outcome of this crucial match against Liverpool. The Gunners will be looking to continue their positive form and secure a victory against one of their toughest opponents.

As the game kicks off, Arsenal supporters will be hoping that the absence of Gabriel Jesus doesn't hamper their chances as they take on the reigning Premier League champions.
