Former UFC champion Jamahal Hill has been arrested in Michigan and charged with misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence, according to officials from Kent County. The 32-year-old fighter was booked into jail in Grand Rapids in the early morning hours of Monday.

Court documents obtained from TMZ allege that Hill assaulted his brother, James Anthony Hill Jr., causing serious or aggravated injury. Brian Butler, Hill's representative, released a statement in response to the incident, dismissing the headlines as "click bait" and asserting Hill's innocence. Butler mentioned that Hill denies the false accusations and that further comments regarding the matter will be withheld until the truth is revealed in court.

Hill recently vacated the UFC championship in July due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. He had secured the belt in January after defeating former champion Glover Teixeira in a thrilling match held in Brazil. The Michigan-born athlete has quickly risen to prominence since earning a UFC contract in 2019 on the Contender Series, boasting a record of 12 wins and 1 loss, with four finishes.

In related news, Alex Pereira, the former middleweight champion, claimed the UFC's light heavyweight title last month by defeating JiYí Procházka. Pereira's victory further adds to the dynamic landscape of the UFC's competitive divisions.
