With the season underway, the injury bug has hit the Memphis Grizzlies hard, leaving them without star player Ja Morant. In Morant's absence, Desmond Bane has emerged as the primary offensive threat, while Jaren Jackson Jr. anchors the defense for the team.

In their last game against the Boston Celtics, Bane showcased his sharpshooting skills by making seven three-pointers. However, despite his impressive performance, there are doubts about his ability to maintain a high points, rebounds, and assists (PRA) line in a challenging matchup against the Houston Rockets.

Bane has been averaging 34.4 PRA on the road and has managed to surpass this line in five out of seven games played. Analyzing the five games in which he exceeded expectations (against Portland, Utah, New Orleans, and Dallas), it is noteworthy that four of these teams rank in the top ten for points in the paint allowed. This statistic is significant as it accounts for 47% of Bane's total field goals made this season.

Unfortunately for Bane, the Houston Rockets present a formidable defensive challenge. Led by their new head coach, Ime Udokah, the Rockets have been dominant on the defensive front, especially at home. They possess a plethora of plus-rated defenders such as Dillon Brooks, Jae'Sean Tate, and Jeff Green, who can effectively guard Bane.

At Toyota Center, the Rockets boast the fifth-best defensive rating and opposing field goal percentage. They also allow the fewest fastbreak and total assists, while restricting the pace of the game to the third-lowest rate in the league. These impressive defensive statistics have contributed to the Rockets holding opponents to the third lowest points per game (101.4).

Given the challenging matchup, Bane will need to have an efficient game to surpass his PRA prop of 37.5. However, Udokah's defensive scheme may make it difficult for Bane to achieve this feat. Despite his increased volume and usage, it is uncertain whether Bane will be able to gather enough statistics to surpass his prop in tonight's game.

As the Grizzlies continue to battle injuries, Bane's role as the offensive leader becomes even more crucial. Fans will undoubtedly be eagerly watching to see how he rises to the occasion against the formidable defense of the Rockets.
