CONMEBOL, the South American Football Confederation, has recently announced the highly anticipated details of the 2024 Copa America tournament. Set to unfold in the United States, this prestigious event will showcase the best football in the world across 14 magnificent stadiums dispersed across 10 different regions.
Scheduled to take place from June 20 to July 14, 2024, the tournament will span across 10 states on the East Coast, Central Zone, and West Coast. With the opening match to be held at the iconic Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, fans can look forward to an exciting event that culminates with the final at the renowned Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Alejandro Dominguez, the president of CONMEBOL and vice president of FIFA, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, noting that the passion of football will travel across the country, bringing emotions and joy to hundreds of thousands of fans inside the stadiums and millions of spectators worldwide.
Victor Montagliani, President of CONCACAF and vice president of FIFA, also shared his excitement, highlighting the world-class venues and the passionate fans in the United States known for supporting major events. Montagliani believes that co-hosting the Copa America 2024, along with the diverse range of CONCACAF competitions, will solidify the region as the global hub of football leading up to the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
The Copa America 2024 will feature a total of 32 matches, with 16 teams competing, including 10 from CONMEBOL and six from CONCACAF. The stadiums selected for this grand event are:
