Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill has hinted at a blossoming romance between his teammate Travis Kelce and pop sensation Taylor Swift. Tranquill revealed that Swift's presence at Chiefs games this season has brought a wave of energy and fun to the team and their fans.
Kelce and Swift's relationship went public in late September when the singer attended an Arrowhead Stadium match to support the Chiefs against the Chicago Bears. Since then, Swift has accompanied Kelce to an impressive 11 Chiefs games and even had the opportunity to meet his parents. Last Sunday, she met Kelce's brother, Jason, for the first time.
While Kelce enjoyed his November bye week in Argentina to attend Swift's Eras Show in South America, Tranquill highlighted the light-hearted banter amongst the team during practices when their DJ would play a Taylor Swift song. Tranquill mentioned that he often hears more about the relationship when he's at home rather than in the locker room.
'It's been fun, man. That's something to celebrate, something fun, and we enjoy poking fun at Travis," Tranquill shared on the Zach Gelb show. "But it seems like maybe they're in love, man. They've got really something going, and we enjoy having her at our games. It brings a lot of energy and a lot of fun to our fans. And so that's good for business, good for football, and good for the NFL."
As speculation over the relationship continues to grow, Tranquill was asked if he expects to receive a wedding invitation. The linebacker playfully responded, "We'll see, man. There is going to be a lot of people who want to go to that wedding."
On the football front, Kelce has been in top form, with his outstanding performance alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes resulting in a record-breaking achievement. The Chiefs' duo now holds the all-time record for most postseason touchdowns by a quarterback and receiver, surpassing the previous record set by Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.
As the Chiefs gear up to face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, their eyes are set on securing a spot in the Super Bowl. If they emerge victorious, they will face either the San Francisco 49ers or the Detroit Lions at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11.
Meanwhile, Swift's schedule poses a potential challenge as she is slated to perform on her Eras tour in Tokyo during that same week, with her last show scheduled for Saturday night in Japan. However, if the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl, Swift may face a hectic dash back from Japan in order to support her rumored beau.
While the Kelce-Swift pairing remains unconfirmed, their alleged romance has become a point of intrigue both on and off the field. Only time will tell if these two lovebirds will continue to capture the attention of fans and media alike.
