The Buffalo Sabres have made some changes to their lineup following an upper-body injury sustained by forward Jeff Skinner during Wednesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche. In a recent announcement on Thursday, the team revealed that they have recalled forward Brett Murray from the Rochester Americans and placed Skinner on injured reserve.

Skinner's injury occurred following a hit from Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon during the second period of Wednesday's game. As a result, Skinner will be required to miss a minimum of seven days, starting from the date of the game, as per the NHL's rules regarding players on injured reserve.

In the meantime, the 25-year-old Brett Murray has been summoned from the Rochester Americans to join the Sabres. Murray made his season debut for the Sabres during their victory against the Arizona Coyotes on Monday, where he showcased his physicality by delivering three hits in a total ice time of 10 minutes and 47 seconds.

However, Murray was loaned to Rochester on Wednesday to make room for forward Alex Tuch, who was activated from injured reserve just before the Sabres faced off against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Sabres hope that Murray's presence will help fill the void left by Skinner's absence. With his recent performance and physical play, Murray could provide a valuable contribution to the team's efforts on the ice.

As the Sabres rally together to overcome the absence of Skinner, their focus will be on maintaining a competitive edge and finding success in upcoming games. The team, along with fans, eagerly awaits Skinner's return while Brett Murray steps up to take on the challenge.
