Buffalo Sabres forward Brandon Biro is set to make his season debut as the team takes on the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night. The call-up comes in response to a lower-body injury sustained by teammate Zach Benson, who is expected to be out for an indefinite period.

Biro, who was recalled from the Rochester Americans on Tuesday, will be joining Jordan Greenway and Tage Thompson on the forward line. The 24-year-old undrafted free agent has been a standout offensive producer in Rochester, tallying career-high numbers of 16 goals and 51 points in just 49 games last season.

Although Biro has played only one NHL game, his performance in Rochester has earned him praise from both the Sabres coaching staff and his teammates. Known for his playmaking abilities and hockey sense, Biro is viewed as a valuable asset to the team. Sabres coach Don Granato expressed his excitement at having Biro's creativity and added depth in the lineup.

Meanwhile, goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen will start for the second consecutive game, after registering his first career shutout with 23 saves against the Colorado Avalanche. Luukkonen's stellar performance has earned him the starting position, with Devon Levi serving as the backup goaltender.

In terms of recent form, the Sabres are coming off a win against the Avalanche where they showcased their up-tempo and aggressive style of play. Granato urged his team to build on their performance, aiming for consecutive victories for the first time this season.

The Flyers, on the other hand, have struggled as of late, losing four of their last five games following a promising 3-1-0 start to the season. However, Granato cautioned against underestimating their opponents, praising the team's improvement under head coach John Tortorella.

Leading the scoring for the Flyers is Travis Konecny with eight goals and 11 points. In goal, Carter Hart will get the start for Philadelphia.

The game will be broadcast exclusively on MSG in the Buffalo market, with pregame coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. Fans outside of the Buffalo broadcast region can catch the national broadcast on TNT. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Both teams will be looking to secure a victory, with the Sabres aiming to continue their positive momentum while the Flyers aim to bounce back from their recent slump.
