The Phoenix Suns are gearing up for their season opener against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night, but it appears that they will be without one of their new stars. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Bradley Beal is unlikely to play due to a back issue.

Beal's last appearance on the court was during the Suns' preseason win over the Portland Trail Blazers on October 16. Despite struggling with his shot, Beal managed to contribute 11 points, two assists, and two steals in 18 minutes of play. It is unclear if the back issue was already affecting him during that game. However, later in the week, the Suns announced that Beal was dealing with low back tightness and would sit out their preseason finale against the Los Angeles Lakers.

At that time, the Suns were optimistic that Beal's back issue would not impact him during the regular season. Even head coach Frank Vogel expressed minimal concern recently, when Beal was limited in practice along with Devin Booker, who was nursing a sore toe.

In an interview on Monday, Beal spoke to the media about his back issue, saying, "It's better, it's better... Definitely trending right and feeling better. Was able to practice last two days. So it's been good." While not an official statement, Beal's comments suggest that he may be on the road to recovery and could potentially return to the lineup soon.

Meanwhile, fellow star player Devin Booker had also faced uncertainty about his availability for the season opener. Booker's last game was also on October 16 against the Blazers, where he had an impressive performance, scoring 19 points with two rebounds, four assists, two steals, and four 3-pointers in 18 minutes. He sat out the preseason finale against the Lakers for rest purposes, but reports of a sore toe surfaced on Sunday. However, Booker confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that he would be playing in the season opener, providing some relief for Suns fans.

The Phoenix Suns' clash with the Golden State Warriors is set to take place on Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET and will be televised on TNT. While the Suns will be missing Beal, they can still count on the contributions of Booker and their dedicated team as they kick off their season with high hopes for success.
