Boston Bruins Announce Roster Changes: Carlo and Forbort Added, Beecher and Lohrei Assigned

BOSTON - The Boston Bruins have made some roster adjustments, with General Manager Don Sweeney announcing the addition of defensemen Brandon Carlo and Derek Forbort to the active roster. In a corresponding move, forward John Beecher and defenseman Mason Lohrei have been assigned to the Providence team.
Carlo, a 27-year-old blueliner, has already showcased his skills in 39 games for Boston this season. He has contributed two goals and eight assists, bringing his total points to 10. Standing tall at 6-foot-5 and weighing 217 pounds, Carlo has an impressive NHL career of 517 games under his belt. He has accumulated 26 goals and 70 assists throughout his time on the ice. Carlo, originally drafted by Boston in the second round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft (37th overall), hails from Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Joining Carlo is Derek Forbort, a 31-year-old defenseman who has appeared in 20 games for Boston this season. Forbort has showcased his playmaking abilities, contributing four assists to the team's success. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 216 pounds, Forbort has played in a total of 481 NHL games. His career stats include 17 goals and 78 assists, amounting to 95 points. Forbort, originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft (15th overall), is a native of Duluth, Minnesota.
On the other hand, forward John Beecher and defenseman Mason Lohrei will be assigned to the Providence team. Beecher, a 22-year-old player, has already made an impact in 39 games with Boston this season, contributing five goals and two assists. During his time in Providence in the 2022-23 season, Beecher notched nine goals and 14 assists in 61 games. The Elmira, New York native was chosen by Boston in the first round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft (30th overall).
Similarly, 23-year-old defenseman Mason Lohrei will also join the Providence team. Lohrei has played 27 games for Boston this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists for a total of six points. Additionally, Lohrei has played 10 games with Providence this season, recording six assists. The Verona, Wisconsin native was selected by Boston in the second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft (58th overall).
