Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table with a dominant 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz in the second half sealed the victory for Mikel Arteta's side, who were eager to bounce back from their disappointing defeat against Aston Villa last weekend.

The Gunners started the game strong, controlling the first half and pinning Brighton back in their own half. Despite their dominance, Arsenal struggled to find a breakthrough due to Brighton's resilient defending and missed opportunities. Midfielder Martin Odegaard and young forward Bukayo Saka both had chances to score but were denied by solid goalkeeping.

In the first half, Arsenal had a total of 15 shots, with 3 on target. On the other hand, Brighton had limited opportunities and barely made an impact in Arsenal's penalty area, leaving goalkeeper David Raya with little to do.

However, Arsenal stepped up their pressure in the second half and were rewarded just eight minutes after the restart with a goal from Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian striker found the back of the net, giving Arsenal the lead and igniting the home crowd.

As the game progressed, Arsenal continued to dominate, and their second goal came courtesy of Kai Havertz. The German midfielder finished off a brilliant team move, extending Arsenal's lead and securing all three points for his team.

The Gunners' defensive line also played a crucial role in the victory. William Saliba, widely considered as one of the top center-backs in the Premier League, delivered an outstanding performance alongside Gabriel Magalhaes. The defensive duo effectively shut down Brighton's attacking threats, with Saliba marking Evan Ferguson out of the game. Gabriel Magalhaes also impressed with his solid defensive display and preventing Brighton from building any meaningful plays.

Benjamin White, operating as a right-back, came close to scoring from a Martinelli corner, but Lewis Dunk made a crucial clearance off the line to deny him. Meanwhile, Oleksandr Zinchenko provided solid support from the left-back position, although he had a few shaky moments with the occasional stray pass.

Overall, Arsenal's commanding victory over Brighton showcased their attacking prowess and defensive solidity. With this win, they reclaimed the top spot in the Premier League standings, firmly establishing themselves as title contenders. The Gunners will be looking to build on this momentum in their upcoming fixtures as they aim to maintain their position at the summit of English football.
