RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes are expected to turn to goaltender Antti Raanta for their upcoming game against the Winnipeg Jets, giving Pyotr Kochetkov a much-needed break after making four consecutive starts. Raanta, who was sidelined due to illness in their previous game, will be looking for a bounce-back performance as he returns to the net for the first time since November 24.

Head coach Rod Brind'Amour expressed his intention to rest Kochetkov for their most recent outing, but with Raanta under the weather, the 24-year-old Kochetkov displayed his skills by earning a 19-save win against the Buffalo Sabres.

Raanta's last start against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Black Friday at PNC Arena was a challenging one, as he allowed eight goals on just 14 shots. However, Brind'Amour has been adamant that the first four goals were not Raanta's fault, choosing to keep him in the game due to Kochetkov's extensive relief appearances this season.

With a 6-3 record in nine starts so far this season, Raanta has proven to be a reliable netminder for the Hurricanes. The team will be counting on his experience and skill to bring them back to their winning ways.

The Hurricanes showcased one of their most complete performances of the season in their last game against the Buffalo Sabres, securing a convincing 6-2 victory. Special teams played a crucial role, as the power play converted on both opportunities, while the penalty kill successfully shut down all five of Buffalo's power plays.

As the Hurricanes prepare to take on the Jets, they will be looking to build on their recent success and solidify their position in the highly competitive Metropolitan Division. Raanta's return to the crease after a 10-day break brings a fresh perspective and renewed optimism for the team as they aim for another victory.

With Raanta back in action and the Hurricanes firing on all cylinders, fans eagerly anticipate an exciting matchup against the Winnipeg Jets as their team continues to strive for success in the challenging NHL season.
