WWE is set to kick off 2024 with a bang as the company announced a week's worth of TV specials, starting a trend that should continue throughout the year. Dubbed 'New Year's Knockout Week,' this lineup of programming promises to captivate fans and build upon the success of the past year.

The announcement was made by Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, WWE's creative head and former multi-time World Champion, on social media. He revealed the exciting plans, stating, "We're ringing in 2024 with WWE New Year's Knockout Week: a full slate of @WWE programming to kick the new year off right."

'New Year's Knockout Week' will commence on New Year's Day with a special episode of 'Monday Night Raw' called 'Day 1 Raw.' This echoes a previous Premium Live Event that took place on January 1, 2022, and promises to set the tone for an action-packed year ahead. Following this, on Tuesday, 'WWE NXT' will present 'New Year's Evil,' continuing the tradition of running unique New Year's episodes. Finally, 'Friday Night Smackdown' will air from Vancouver, British Columbia, with a special episode titled 'New Year's Revolution.'

This move by WWE to offer an entire week of TV specials comes as no surprise considering the company's recent successes. Ratings for WWE shows have been consistently on the rise, and their media rights deals have been renewed. By adding more window dressing to their stacked cards and catchy titles, WWE stands to enhance their already increasing viewership.

It is worth noting that WWE's new contract for Smackdown includes provisions for four TV specials on NBC, which will bring an even grander sense of anticipation as they air on over-the-air television. However, for their cable shows, WWE is taking a page out of their own playbook, following the successful model used by NXT.

NXT has been hosting themed TV specials for years, including 'New Year's Evil,' 'Spring Breakin,' 'Heat Wave,' and the highly popular 'Halloween Havoc.' These themed episodes have proven to attract more viewers and generate excitement among the fanbase. Given this success, it is likely that WWE will continue to incorporate more themed episodes into their programming, offering fans an even more compelling product.

As WWE prepares to dive into 2024, 'New Year's Knockout Week' sets the stage for an exciting year ahead. With an already promising lineup and a growing fanbase, WWE is poised to continue its upward trajectory in the world of professional wrestling. Fans can eagerly anticipate the thrilling action, larger-than-life personalities, and unforgettable moments that WWE is known for delivering.
