In an unexpected twist, negotiations between Universal and director David Leitch for the next installment of the "Jurassic World" series have come to an amicable end. The departure of Leitch leaves the studio on the hunt for a new filmmaker to lead one of its most beloved franchises.

Universal is currently in the development phase for the new "Jurassic World" movie, with David Koepp, the writer behind the adaptation of the original "Jurassic Park" and its sequel, set to pen the screenplay. This upcoming film is expected to introduce a fresh storyline, promising more thrilling encounters between humans and the awe-inspiring dinosaurs. While it remains uncertain, fans are eager to learn if stars like Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum will reprise their roles in this adventure.

Notably, "Jurassic Park" producer Frank Marshall will be returning, alongside his producing partner Patrick Crowley. Additionally, renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producer through his company Amblin Entertainment.

Leitch, known for his work on films such as "Atomic Blonde," the "Fast & Furious" spinoff "Hobbes & Shaw," and the upcoming action comedy "The Fall Guy," has collaborated with Universal on several successful projects. However, he will not be taking the helm for the next "Jurassic World" installment.

The "Jurassic Park" franchise has enjoyed immense success, amassing over $6 billion worldwide across its six films. Fans can mark their calendars, as the untitled next installment is expected to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.

As Universal embarks on the search for a new director, anticipation builds for another thrilling chapter in the world of "Jurassic Park."
