In a surprising turn of events, a translation issue has emerged, shedding new light on the alleged snub accusations against the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, towards Meghan Markle during their first meeting. The revelation came after the release of Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, in which a mistranslation led to misconceptions about Kate's whereabouts at the time.

According to the English version of the book, Prince Harry asked his brother William about Kate's location when Meghan first came over to be introduced to Prince William. William's response, as depicted in the book, was that Kate was "out with the kids." This indicated that Kate was away from home rather than intentionally staying in the garden to avoid meeting Meghan, as previously reported.

The confusion arose when Spare was accidentally released in Spain prior to its official publication date. In the Spanish translation, the response from William was translated as "Fuera, con los niños," which directly translates to "Out with the children," rather than "outside." This misunderstanding led to the belief that Kate was present in the garden during Meghan's visit.

Interestingly, this translation issue comes on the heels of another controversy surrounding the Dutch version of Omid Scobie's book, Endgame. The Dutch translation reportedly mentioned two alleged "royal racists," causing a significant fallout. Translators claim that the names of Kate and King Charles were included in the version they were given, which Omid Scobie denies. Buckingham Palace is said to be considering legal action in response to the claims.

While Prince Harry's memoir describes the initial meetings between Meghan and other members of the royal family, it does not explicitly mention the first encounter between Meghan and Kate. However, it does highlight a later occasion where the four of them spent an evening together, with Meghan preparing dinner and a jovial atmosphere prevailing among the group.

Both Meghan and Kate have been relatively tight-lipped about the early days of their relationship. However, in a 2017 BBC interview, Meghan praised her future sister-in-law, noting that Kate had been "wonderful" during her early days in the royal family. Prince Harry also mentioned the eagerness of both William and Kate to meet Meghan once their relationship became known.

Despite the fallout from the publication of Endgame and the translation controversy, the royal family has presented a united front. The King, Queen Camilla, Kate, and William recently attended the annual pre-Christmas diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace, posing together for photographs.

Buckingham Palace has yet to make an official public comment on the matter, but it is understood that the royal family and senior advisors are weighing their options, including the possibility of legal action in response to the unsubstantiated claims. As the controversy surrounding Endgame continues, public opinion has largely been sympathetic towards the royal family, with many dismissing the book's claims as unsubstantiated and poorly-reviewed.

The revelation stemming from the translation issue has dispelled the notion that Kate Middleton intentionally snubbed Meghan Markle during their first meeting, highlighting the importance of accurate translations in ensuring that accurate information is conveyed.
