Former Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner has made the decision to drop her "wrongful retention" lawsuit against her ex-husband, musician Joe Jonas, regarding the custody of their two daughters. The couple, who announced their plans to divorce earlier this year, recently signed a co-parenting consent plan approved by a judge in the United Kingdom.

According to The New York Times, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed the lawsuit with the consent of both parties. Turner had filed the suit in September, alleging that Jonas was withholding the passports of their daughters and requesting their immediate return. The lawsuit claimed that despite their agreement to make England their "forever home," Jonas was allegedly refusing to send the children back to their mother and return their passports.

In response, Jonas's representative stated that handing over the passports would have violated a court order in Florida which prohibited either parent from relocating the children. However, it has now been revealed that Turner and Jonas signed a memorandum of understanding and a parenting plan in October, along with a consent order approved by a British court on January 11.

The former couple, who first met in 2016 and officially married in 2019, have two daughters together. Their weddings took place in May and June of 2019, with the first being a spontaneous event in Las Vegas following the Billboard Music Awards. Their second wedding was a grand celebration in Southern France. Both daughters were born in the United States, in 2020 and 2022, and hold dual American and British citizenship.

With the resolution of their custody dispute, it appears that Turner and Jonas have reached a mutual agreement regarding the care of their children. The details of the co-parenting plan have not been made public, but it represents a significant step forward in ensuring the well-being of their daughters.

While the couple may no longer be married, their commitment to co-parenting speaks to their dedication as parents and their desire to prioritize their children's needs. The dropping of the lawsuit indicates a willingness to move forward and find common ground for the benefit of their family.
