TV crime drama series, Warrior, which was recently canceled at Max, may have a chance at survival thanks to Netflix. The show, which recently concluded its third season, will no longer premiere new episodes on HBO's streaming platform, according to IGN.

Warrior, originally created from a concept by Bruce Lee, debuted on Cinemax in 2019 before transitioning to its current platform for its third season. Despite encountering obstacles throughout its history, it seems that Warrior hasn't fought its final battle just yet.

According to Deadline, Netflix has expressed interest in reviving the show featuring Andrew Koji and Olivia Cheng as the lead actors. Warrior is expected to premiere on Netflix in February 2024. If the series proves popular among Netflix subscribers, there is a possibility that additional seasons could be produced. At this time, the timing of a potential fourth season remains uncertain, but fans of the show can hold onto hope for a continuation.

Jonathan Tropper, the series creator, expressed his enthusiasm about the show's potential resurrection, stating, "Warrior is a show that simply refuses to die. Through platform and regime changes, the writers, producers, cast, crew, and our stunt team continued to make something powerful, relevant, and wildly unique. And now, thanks to Netflix, we've been given yet another lease on life, and I'm thrilled for everyone involved that millions more viewers around the world will discover it."

Shannon Lee, the daughter of Bruce Lee and an executive producer on Warrior, shared her optimistic perspective on the show's future. She stated, "If anything can be said about Warrior, with Bruce Lee in our corner, our indomitable spirit is REAL! And so, my wish is that the huge global Netflix audience LOVES Warrior and from that Love, more goodness flows - in the form of greater recognition for our talented cast and crew who deserve all the things, in the form of passionate fandom for this relevant kick-ass show, and, if I dare to dream, in the form of an opportunity to continue our story for our amazing fans who, thanks to Netflix, will have grown in number and enthusiasm!"

While the future of Warrior remains uncertain, it has captivated audiences with its unique storytelling. In a review of the show's first season, IGN described Warrior as a compelling narrative that offers a fresh perspective on Chinese immigrants in the American West, reminiscent of the foul-mouthed yet aspirational storytelling of Deadwood.

IGN has reached out to Netflix for comment on their interest in reviving Warrior. Fans of the series eagerly await further news on the fate of their beloved show.
