In the midst of escalating tensions within the British royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly been excluded from the guest list for the upcoming wedding of one of their longtime UK acquaintances. According to The Sunday Times, Hugh Grosvenor, who is said to be a godparent to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son Archie, did not extend an invitation to the couple for his June nuptials with Olivia Henson.

A friend of both Harry and Grosvenor expressed sadness over the situation, acknowledging that the decision was made in an attempt to prevent further strain and drama among feuding family members. While Grosvenor wishes for reconciliation between the brothers, it appears unlikely to occur before the wedding takes place.

Prince William, Kate Middleton, and King Charles III, however, were all reportedly included on the coveted guest list for the event. The absence of Harry and Markle adds to the ongoing discord between the Sussexes and their UK relatives.

Notably, tensions have been exacerbated following the release of royal reporter Omid Scobie's tell-all book, "Endgame." The book inadvertently named King Charles and Middleton as two individuals whom Markle had allegedly accused of making "racist" comments about the potential skin color of her and Harry's unborn child.

The strained relationships can be traced back to 2020 when Harry and Markle decided to step away from their royal duties and relocate to the United States. Subsequently, the release of the Netflix documentary, "Harry & Meghan," in December 2022 further strained the already delicate ties.

Scobie's insider also revealed that the docuseries had a detrimental effect on King Charles's efforts to garner positive media coverage. Notably, Charles went from avoiding any discussions about his son to openly criticizing him following the documentary's release.

In addition to the documentary, Harry's recent scathing memoir, titled "Spare," served as another blow to the already frayed relationship between him, his father, and his brother, William.

Though Harry and Markle have reportedly attempted to mend fences, Charles remains hesitant to fully reconcile. This has caused frustration among other family members who hope for a resolution.

Representatives for Harry and Markle have not yet responded to requests for comment from Page Six. Likewise, a spokesperson for Grosvenor declined to comment on the guest list.

As tensions within the royal family continue to escalate, the exclusion of Harry and Markle from their friend's wedding emphasizes the fragile state of the relationships within the monarchy. The coming weeks and months will likely bring further developments in the ongoing saga of the rift between the Sussexes and their UK family.
