In a surprising turn of events, Max's "Warrior" has been canceled after its first season as a Max original and third overall. However, fans of the series can breathe a sigh of relief as the show will soon find a new home on Netflix beginning in February 2024. Apart from Netflix, "Warrior" will also continue to be available on Max, thanks to the non-exclusive streaming licensing deals made by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) with the popular streaming platform.

Originally, "Warrior" made its debut as a Cinemax original series back in 2019, receiving rave reviews from critics and viewers. The show was then renewed for a second season, which aired in the fall of 2020. Unfortunately, by the time the second season aired, Cinemax had already ceased its originals business.

Enter HBO Max, the streaming service that decided to revive "Warrior" for a third season in April 2021. The third season premiered in June of the same year and sadly, the latest episode will serve as the series finale.

Set in 19th century San Francisco, "Warrior" is based on the writings of the legendary Bruce Lee, bringing his vision and martial arts expertise to life. The story follows Andrew Koji, who portrays Ah Sahm, a Chinese martial arts expert on a mission to find his sister (played by Dianne Doan). Along the way, Sahm gets entangled in the Tong Wars of San Francisco.

The talented cast of "Warrior" includes Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Tom Weston-Jones, Hoon Lee, Langley Kirkwood, Perry Yung, Joe Taslim, Dustin Nguyen, Miranda Raison, Chen Tang, Chelsea Muirhead, Mark Dacascos, and Adam Rayner.

Jonathan Tropper, known for his work on Cinemax's "Banshee" and Apple TV+'s forthcoming "Your Friends and Neighbors," created "Warrior" and also serves as executive producer. Joining Tropper in executive producing are Justin Lin, Danielle Woodrow, and Andrew Schneider of Perfect Storm Entertainment. Shannon Lee, daughter of the late Bruce Lee, is also an executive producer, alongside Brad Kane and Richard Sharkey.

With the cancellation of "Warrior" on Max, fans can now look forward to enjoying all three seasons of the gripping martial arts series on Netflix, starting in February 2024.
