Acting as the executive architect and general contractor for this colossal project was the esteemed AD100 architecture firm, Marmol Radziner. The contractor also accused West of owing over $1 million in unpaid wages. The dispute arose when the contractor refused to replace the house's electrical system with large generators, citing concerns of fire hazards. West firmly denied these allegations.
