In a recent Instagram post, actress Erin Moriarty has strongly refuted accusations made by Megyn Kelly about her alleged extreme plastic surgery. Moriarty described Kelly's claims as "disgustingly false" and expressed her dismay at the timing, as they came during one of the most challenging weeks of her life.

Sharing her struggles, Moriarty revealed that the past week had been incredibly stressful, impairing her ability to eat and sleep properly. As a result, she lost weight and anticipated that such verbal abuse and accusations might come her way, possibly even leading to unfounded drug-use accusations from fans.

In her statement, Moriarty acknowledged the prevalence of bullying but asserted her belief that addressing such false claims was necessary. She expressed her horror upon receiving a message about a misogynistic video in which Megyn Kelly commented on her appearance.

Kelly made these remarks during a January 17 episode of her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, while discussing plastic surgery with guest Michael Knowles from The Daily Wire. Referring to plastic surgery as a "social illness," Knowles accused Moriarty of having an "addiction" to altering her appearance, which prompted Kelly's controversial response.

The host went on to display an alleged "relatively recent" image of Moriarty, expressing her concern and highlighting what she perceived as a stark difference between the two images. Kelly suggested that Moriarty had transformed herself into a "fake version" of her former self, describing it as a possible sign of mental illness.

However, Moriarty responded by disproving the timeline of the first image presented by Kelly. She clarified that the photo was taken about a decade ago, before she was of legal drinking age. Dismissing Kelly's allegations as misinformed and misleading, Moriarty decried the dissemination of false and clickbait information by influential figures.

The Daily Beast reached out to Megyn Kelly for a comment, but no response has been obtained thus far regarding Moriarty's denouncement.

Moriarty's public statement highlights a growing concern regarding the impact of false narratives and cyberbullying on individuals in the public eye. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fact-checking and responsible reporting in the age of social media.

It remains to be seen how this controversy will unfold and whether further action will be taken regarding Kelly's comments. As Moriarty continues to navigate the challenges of fame and scrutiny, her courage to address these allegations may pave the way for increased dialogue on the harmful effects of baseless accusations within the entertainment industry.
