Puerto Rican actor Kamar de los Reyes, best known for his roles on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live and in the popular Call of Duty video game franchise, has died at the age of 56. The actor passed away on Christmas Eve in Los Angeles following a short struggle with cancer, as confirmed by a family spokesperson.
De los Reyes gained recognition for his portrayal of Antonio Vega on One Life to Live, where he initially appeared in 1995. His character was a reformed gang member who went on to become a lawyer and a police officer, navigating complex storylines that captivated viewers for years.
In addition to his soap opera success, de los Reyes left a lasting impression in the gaming world. He portrayed the menacing Raul Menendez, a Nicaraguan arms dealer and terrorist, in several Call of Duty titles, including Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Call of Duty: Vanguard.
Beyond television and gaming, de los Reyes ventured into film and theater. He played the role of Watergate burglar Eugenio Martínez in Oliver Stone's Nixon (1995) and starred as Tomas in Lisa France's Love & Suicide (2005), which was filmed secretly in Cuba during the Havana International Film Festival.
Recent years saw de los Reyes taking on recurring roles on popular television shows. Born on November 8, 1967, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, de los Reyes was the youngest of three sons and grew up in Las Vegas. His father, Walfredo de los Reyes, is a renowned Cuban percussionist. De los Reyes began his career as a dancer in the film Salsa (1988), directed by Boaz Davidson.
Throughout his career, de los Reyes demonstrated his talent on both stage and screen. He appeared in Public Theater productions such as Blade to the Heat (1994), where he played the role of the Irish-Mexican boxer Pedro "Roadman" Quinn, and The Tempest (1995), where he starred alongside Patrick Stewart as Ferdinand.

The beloved actor is survived by his wife, Sherri Saum, an actress known for her role on The Fosters. They married in 2007 and shared three children together: 9-year-old fraternal twin sons named John and Michael, and another son named Caylen. De los Reyes is also mourned by his father, his mother Matilde, his brothers Walfredo Reyes Jr. and Daniel de los Reyes, and his sisters Lily and Ilde.
