Paramount and Hasbro's highly anticipated animated film, Transformers One, will now hit theaters on September 20, 2023, instead of its original release date of September 13. The decision to delay the film by one week was made to take advantage of Imax screens and provide some breathing room from its competitor, Sony's Beetlejuice.

The studio made the announcement while launching a new trailer for Transformers One in an unprecedented manner - directly from space. Paramount revealed that the trailer launch, which featured a live-streamed countdown into space, marked a first for Hollywood. Viewers were taken on a journey 125,000 feet above the Earth, where the trailer was unveiled with a custom introduction video from voice stars Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry.

Transformers One is set to become the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, promising an untold origin story that explores the bond between Optimus Prime and Megatron, who were once friends like brothers. The film delves into how their relationship ultimately deteriorated, changing the fate of the planet Cybertron forever.

The star-studded voice cast of Transformers One includes Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax, a young Optimus Prime, and Brian Tyree Henry as D-16, a young Megatron. Joining them are acclaimed actors Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm.

The trailer for Transformers One was exclusively shown to theater owners at the recent CinemaCon, where Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry themselves introduced the first scene of the movie in glorious 3D.

In addition to the date change for Transformers One, Paramount also announced that their untitled animated Aang: The Last Airbender Avatar movie is being pushed back from October 10, 2025, to January 30, 2026.
