In exciting news for fans of the popular murder mystery franchise, Kerry Washington and Glenn Close have been announced as the newest suspects in "Knives Out 3." This dynamic duo joins the previously announced star-studded cast which includes Daniel Craig, reprising his role as the eccentric detective Benoit Blanc. Also rumored to be on board are "Fleabag" actor Andrew Scott, breakout star Josh O'Connor from "Challengers," and Cailee Spaeny, known for her role in "Priscilla."

With a reputation for assembling an impressive ensemble, "Knives Out" movies continue to attract Hollywood's top talent. As production gears up, fans can expect more casting announcements to come in the following weeks.

The third installment of the franchise, titled "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery," will see director Rian Johnson returning to write and direct. Johnson will also produce alongside his T-Street partner Ram Bergman, who had previously worked on the first two films. Anticipation is high for "Wake Up Dead Man," with Johnson and Craig teasing that Blanc's latest case will be his most dangerous yet.

Originally released by Lionsgate in 2019, "Knives Out" proved to be a massive success, grossing an impressive $312 million against a budget of $40 million. Capitalizing on the franchise's popularity, Netflix acquired the rights to the series for over $450 million and debuted the sequel, "Glass Onion," in 2022.

To much fanfare, "Glass Onion" became the first Netflix movie to be screened in the country's three biggest theater chains - AMC Theaters, Regal Cinemas, and Cinemark - and raked in an estimated $15 million during its week-long run.

As for the release plans for the highly anticipated third entry, Netflix has yet to disclose their strategy. However, given the franchise's previous success and the star power behind it, fans can expect more thrilling twists and turns to come when "Knives Out 3" hits screens in 2025.

With "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery" promising an even more dangerous adventure for Benoit Blanc, mystery enthusiasts will undoubtedly be on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this thrilling franchise.
